Youth Talent Takes Off With Tehillah Lounge’s Winter Affair

(Nassau, The Bahamas) Faith-based, spiritually-focused and kingdom-minded youth will be marking the peak of the season by taking the scriptural saying of “stir up thy gift” literally, in order to facilitate physical giving to the less fortunate. Singers, spoken word artists, painters and dancers plan to showcase their talents when Tehillah Lounge hosts their winter event, "A Tehillah Christmas" on Saturday 29, 2012 at Epic Church in the Summerwinds Plaza, Tonique Williams Darling Highway. Part proceeds from the $10 tickets will go towards the Elizabeth Estates Children’s Home.

Hosted by Keith Rolle of Island FM’s Inspiration With Keith and the KLR Management Group, confirmed talent includes singers V-Mac, Kingsley Charles, Mericha Walker, Taran Kerr, Cara Scavella, A'leithia Sweeting and Sweet Fragrance. Poets/spoken word artists Confydence, Professa, Psyonik, Cara Scavella and Lauren Thurston plan to hit the stage. Also, in a unique twist, artists/paintersKevin Rolle, Kandice Eldon and Ashley Powell will create original works live while drawing from the inspirational atmosphere. There will also be an open mic segment.

“We’ve been absent for a moment and that was due to my work commitments,” says event founder and organizer Marjorie Julien. “I have had the opportunity to travel to a number of countries around the world and in all those travels, I have yet to find what we have in The Bahamas with Tehillah Lounge and the impact it has on those who are both attending and performing – rather ministering –through their gifts without fear of being persecuted, mocked or even killed for publically assembly to express their faith.”

Marjorie, who has hosted other sold out Tehillah events at SuperClubs Breezes and Nirvana Beach Club says that it has become a positive outlet for young people who want to have fun and be expressive, among others who share the same interests.

“There is a lot of traditional norms we encounter on a daily basis and even in the church,” she explained. “The Tehillah Lounge is a social refuge for adults who are searching for a combination of inspirational harmony with positive ambiance. It presents a relaxing, safe, comfortable, inspirational and uplifting atmosphere with live sounds of R&B, soul, smooth jazz and contemporary gospel music by up-and-coming artists, poets and spoken word artists. Overall, it is simply an alternative for Christians who are looking for entertainment that is edifying and enjoyable; featuring art, music, poetry and spoken word. It is our aim that God be praised while spreading the gospel through the arts.”

$10 tickets are on sale at 100% Bible Bookstore (Marathon Mall), Logos Bookstore (Harbour Bay), Hallmark (Marathon Mall) and Curlz Kids Hair Salon (Robinson Road East in the Helron Plaza. For more information email tehillahlounge@gmail.com
