Bahamian-Americans awarded Best Cultural Dress at African Day Parade in New York

New York, NY - The Bahamian American Cultural Society, Inc. (BACS) captured the Award for Best Cultural Dress at the Sixth Annual African Day Parade held in New York City on September 23, 2012. BACS put together an enthusiastic group of Bahamians, Bahamian Americans, and Friends of The Bahamas who were splendidly robed in crimson colors reflecting the vibrancy of The Bahamas, and patriotically waved the Bahamian Flag.

The leadership of BACS, in the current mood of the Commonwealth, dedicated the march to the memory and tribute of the Honorable Paul L Adderley. He was an outstanding Bahamian, and will be remembered as an exemplary patriot, and framer of The Bahamas Constitution. The BACS thanks all their volunteers who participated in the March, and to all who support their Mission.

The Bahamian American Association has just launched their new Facebook page, and more photos and information about the Society can be found there. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bahamian-American-Cultural-Society/344448685645682?ref=ts
