The discussion surrounding the Bahamian gambling saga
has gathered more steam since the publication of part one of this article. Part
one had addressed the issue of gambling in The Bahamas, provided a brief
synopsis on the history of the gambling policy in our nation, presented the
arguments of the proponents and opponents of gambling by Bahamians in The
Bahamas and the hypocrisy regarding the gambling policy as it relates to
Bahamians. That article was concluded by recommending a referendum on the
matter.

On the national scene, the debate has intensified in
the media as this "underground" activity and industry appears to have grown in
prominence and sophistication in a technological age when compared to
yesteryears. Today, whereas there are still physical web cafes all over the
Bahamas, greater convenience is afforded to patrons as they are now able to
gamble from the comfort of their homes using the internet and online accounts...
