PASSPORT OFFICE EMPLOYEE 'MAY HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN ALLEGED BRIBERY SCHEME'

POLICE suspect a Passport Office employee may have been involved in an alleged bribery scheme exposed by a local radio and television personality.

Chief Passport Officer Franklyn Dames called police to investigate corruption claims he heard on the radio show, "The New Nation", hosted by Lincoln Bain and took immediate action to transfer the man in question out of the Passport Office.

Mr Bain was then questioned at length by officers at the Central Detective Unit who thanked him for his work and for making the allegations public, he said.
