VANDALS STRIKE AT TRUST'S BONEFISH POND NATIONAL PARK

GUN-TOTING vandals have caused thousands of dollars worth of damage at the Bahamas National Trust's Bonefish Pond National Park.

Plexiglass, wood and metal welcome signs at the entrance to the 1,200 acre coastal wetland park off Cowpen Road have all been used for target practice.

Trust Executive Director Eric Carey said the damage will cost the Trust hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in labour and materials to repair.

"We are welcoming people and this is what they are met with," Mr Carey said, gesturing at the shattered signs riddled with bullet holes.
