Dunkin Donuts Opens on Paradise Island

PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas, 11 April, 2012: Dunkin' Donuts, rapidly asserting itself as the favourite one-stop source of coffee, baked goods, and deli sandwiches for Bahamians established its first foothold on this resort island on Wednesday, April 11. This is the sixth Dunkin' Donuts outlet in Nassau and Paradise Island.

Nigel Travis, President of Dunkin' Donuts (International) on his recent visit to The Bahamas commented on how well Bahamians had taken to Dunkin' Donuts. He also pointed to the huge potential for increased sales provided by the high tourist traffic.

"This store will serve both markets," said Ash Henderson, Director of Marketing for Dunkin' Donuts. "It will cater to visitors as well as to Bahamians who live or work on Paradise Island," he said.

"Around 12,000 Bahamian Facebook users have indicated they like Dunkin' Donuts on our Facebook page," said Henderson. "Already they have been asking when will a store open on Paradise Island. Well, that moment has arrived."

"Dunkin' Donuts continues to grow steadily in popularity worldwide. Between 250 and 280 stores are expected to open in the US this year and between 560 and 650 internationally, of which this new Dunkin' Donuts on Paradise Island is one, Henderson continued.

"Our coffee commands fierce loyalty and accounts for a substantial portion of our sales", said Henderson. "Of course, we feature a large range of donuts and other baked goods, but have also become popular for our anytime dining items, like specialty sandwiches, soups and breakfast items," Henderson explained.

"We expect the store to be very successful," he concluded.
