A judge on Friday ordered the removal of an electronic monitoring bracelet from an accused drug smuggler.
Lathario Dion Rose, who is also known as Dion "Buju" Minnis, appeared before Senior Justice Jon Isaacs to have his bail conditions altered.
Police arrested Rose in March 2011 after they seized 852 pounds of marijuana off the Ragged Island chain. Rose is charged with drug possession with intent to supply, drug importation and conspiring to commit the offenses.
In a prior decision, Isaacs directed Minnis to wear an ankle bracelet, report to the Fox Hill Police Station and remain on New Providence.
His lawyer Ian Cargill applied to have the bracelet removed to allow Minnis to operate a bonefishing business.
Raymond Hanna, the prosecutor, did not object to the application.
Isaacs ordered Minnis to give the Fox Hill Police Station one day's written notice before he left the island, informing them of his departure date and his planned fishing location.
