Since the announcement in July 2008 that Ross University, a division of DeVry Inc. (NYSE:DV), will open a branch campus in Freeport, Grand Bahama, in January 2009, construction and local hiring has been happening full tilt.

On Monday, January 12, 2009, the doors to the temporary facility in Seahorse Plaza shopping centre opened its doors and welcomed students to Grand Bahama. Ross's brand new 60,000-80,000 square foot campus is scheduled to open in 2010.

The new location will accommodate the growing demand from new students who wish to attend Ross University, which has a medical school campus in Dominica and a veterinary school campus in St. Kitts.
