Three bars shut down, 28 arrested in police blitz

POLICE conducted two separate operations over the weekend which resulted in three local bars being shut down and 28 persons being arrested.

Officers from the Southeastern and Central Divisions conducted the operations on Friday, in keeping with the Commissioner of Police Ellison Greenslade's policing plan for 2012 - "To Tackle Crime and Enforce the Rules of the Road".

The first was conducted by officers of the Southeastern Division between 7.15am and 9.25am at East Street South.

It resulted in 18 drivers being ticketed for traffic infractions such as unlicensed and uninspected vehicles, cracked windshields and tint ...
