KGBC Committee Members and students from East End schools pose with KGBC puppets during Earth Day Celebrations 2011FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- The most recent and youngest team members of the 'Keep Grand Bahama Clean' (KGBC) initiative were hard at work all year spreading the message of environmental stewardship.
Lisa, a 22 year old environmental inspector, Chris, an 11 year old student, and the youngest member Candice, aged 9, are all puppets. This team of three perform a witty, fast paced, humorous skit teaching children in the classrooms from east to west on the island of Grand Bahama valuable environmental lessons.
Nakira Wilchombe, Environmental Manager for The Grand Bahama Port Authority and Chairperson for the KGBC committee, reveals the skit's message:
"Led by Lisa, Chris and Candice are told why it's very important that they get involved in 'Keeping Grand Bahama Clean'. Even when on breaks from school, it is their responsibility to do their part in forming community groups and discontinuing the practice of throwing garbage from their dad's car window," shares Wilchcombe.
