The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) announced yesterday that it has renominated Exuma MP Anthony Moss to run in the reconfigured Exuma and Ragged Island constituency, and has also ratified attorney Kenred Dorsett to run in Southern Shores in New Providence. Moss was first elected as the Exuma MP in 2002 and has served as deputy speaker of the House of Assembly and chairman of the Bahamas Mortgage Corporation. "The PLP believes that many lives have been touched and positively impacted by Anthony Moss," the statement said. "His leadership, sincerity and especially his generosity with his time and talents with the youth make him a very attractive candidate." The PLP added, "Mr. Moss continues to transcend politics and make significant contributions to the civic life and overall development of The Exumas." Dorsett, a lawyer, founded Chancellors Chambers, Samana Hill, where he has held the position of managing partner since 2006. In addition to his law practice, Dorsett served as a member of the Education Loan Authority, deputy chairman of the Clifton Heritage Authority, and as chairman of the Housing Commission during the Christie administration. He served as the PLP's national vice chairman between 2009 and 2011 and currently serves as the PLP's national campaign coordinator. If elected, Dorsett has promised to establish an urban renewal program, a community center and a youth development and job placement program in Southern Shores, a constituency recently created by the Constituencies Commission. The PLP has ratified 34 candidates so far.  It has not yet ratified candidates for Nassau Village, South Andros, South Eleuthera and North Andros and the Berry Islands. PLP leader Perry Christie announced yesterday that North Andros MP Vincent Peet will not be renominated. Peet, a lawyer, confirmed recently that the party had expressed concerns relating to a matter involving $180,000 in client funds.  He assured that he was working to resolve the matter. In a separate statement yesterday, Peet also confirmed that he is retiring from politics.
