Amidst the sluggish economy on Grand Bahama, a landmark event has taken place on the island November 3rd, 2011 which has great potential to to enhance tourism on the island. 

Thanks to a partnership between Ministry of Tourism & Aviation, Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board, Vision Airlines and the Grand Lucayan, Vision Airlines made its inaugural flight from Baltimore-Washington International Airport to Grand Bahama International Airport with great fanfare and celebration.
