MARINAS STILL FACING GAS CREDIT CARD HIT

MARINA OPERATORS yesterday said that while they welcomed the Government's decision to increase diesel margins by $0.15 per gallon, their profit margin continues to take a hit due to the credit card-based nature of transactions.

Stephen Kappeler, president of the Marina Operators of the Bahamas (MOB), said: "We are grateful for the margin increase. For the marinas it is absolutely a step in the right direction, but we are still concerned that we are taxed with that credit card fee on every transaction.
