PLP: Straw Market a 'profound disappointment'

THE NEW Straw Market is a “profound disappointment” that Bahamians cannot be proud of, according to the Progressive Liberal Party.
After touring the newly-constructed market, PLP leader Perry Christie said the FNM mishandled the project from the beginning.
“From the onset, this straw market has been a disappointment,” he said. “Today, as the vendors prepare to move into the market, we note that is not a destination worthy of the vendors and their historic and cultural contribution to tourism.”
Mr Christie also said the market is “too small ad cramped” ...
