POLICE are investigating the death of a baby boy after he was found lifeless in a crib at a local daycare.

Circumstances surrounding the incident are still uncertain. However, police say they received a call around 10am yesterday from Loving Care daycare centre of Carmichael Road.

It is understood the baby was found unresponsive by a member of staff who went to check on him.

Nursery staff called the police and an ambulance but despite all their efforts the baby died on the way to the hospital.

Police do not suspect foul play.
