Healing Communicators Toastmasters Club 7178 continues to make its mark in leadership and community outreach by hosting its Youth Leadership Program at the Ranfurly Home for Children. Fourteen students from ages 14 to 17 completed an eight-week course designed to enhance their public speaking and leadership skills.

“We believe that our young people possess limitless potential to do and be whatever they want. This program encourages students to use that potential wisely” noted Program Coordinator Toastmaster Eleasha Knowles.

The facilitators of the Home expressed their gratitude for the time and resources shared by the members of Healing Communicators Club 7178. The program proved to be a positive influence for the students as they continue to demonstrate improvement in communication and goal setting. Facilitators of the Ranfurly Home noted that the Youth Leadership Program is an excellent foundation for identifying mentors who students can connect with in the long term.

Students also shared heartfelt stories of how the program not only improved their communication skills, but also boosted their confidence and self-esteem. Several students were elated to share that they volunteered for speaking and leadership roles at their schools due to the skills they acquired in the Youth Leadership Program. All students were presented with completion certificates. Special awards were given for the Most Improved Student, Most Dedicated Member and Best Overall Presenter.
