CEO Announces Strategic Changes to Fuel Future Success and Growth

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — In an effort to enhance customer service, foster robust organizational culture and drive sustainable growth, Aeropost Bahamas has announced the appointment of Tamara Thompson as General Manager for The Bahamas and Michael Delisca as the official lead for Locker Operations not only in The Bahamas but across the Aeropost network.

Aeropost CEO Camilo Rueda said the organizational changes are purposed to set the company up for further success in the future to better service customers and drive profitable growth. Rueda confirmed that former Country Manager Gershan Major will be stepping down to focus more exclusively on other responsibilities, particularly his current role as CEO of Verizon Media Group. Major previously served as both Bahamas General Manager and Regional Director of Smart Lockers.

"We thank Gershan for his dedication to Aeropost and his work ramping up our Bahamas operations and also leading the growth and expansion of our Smart Locker business", Rueda said.

"We will split Gershan's responsibilities into two emerging leaders in the organization, prioritizing the development of internal talent," he stated.

"Tamara Thompson, who presently serves as Manager of Customer Experience and Operations – BHS, will lead the Aeropost Bahamas operation as General Manager. As a general manager Tamara has three main responsibilities: create a strong culture with a highly engaged workforce, drive customer experience that will lead to increased purchase frequency and new customers, and manage the country's finances."

Tamara will report directly to Aeropost COO Juan Pablo.

"Michael Delisca will continue to lead locker operations and will work more closely with Juan Pablo and the country managers on our key results focused on increasing locker volume that will be driven by locker adoption and also working with third parties and this is supported by an improved customer experience." Michael will report to Camilo Rueda.

"I am looking forward to working more closely with Tamara and Michael to build something truly unique both in the Aeropost Bahamas operation and in our Smart Lockers business."

Rueda highlighted the growth of the company over the last few years.

"Under Gershan's leadership, we became pioneers in the region in the deployment of Smart Lockers, being the first to bring this customer-facing technology at scale to the Caribbean and Latin America, operating in seven markets with over 90 locations and more than 4,600 doors," he stated.

"Today, more than 15 percent of all Aeropost customer orders are delivered to lockers and this number will continue to increase exponentially, as we improve the customer experience and roll out more lockers throughout the network. We have also started to work with third parties that will use our locker for differentiated last-mile solutions including other e-commerce, hotels, and university food services."

Aeropost launched in The Bahamas in November 2021 and today offers two main services. Aeropost Marketplace, the international online shopping website, offers customers access to millions of products from verified sellers in the U.S.. Aeropost Courier, which launched locally in October 2023, offers international shipping services allowing customers to shop online at U.S. stores and ship to The Bahamas with a custom sales tax-free U.S. address.

Orders from Aeropost Marketplace and packages from Aeropost Courier are delivered to one of two hub stores or one of the over 20 smart locker locations in New Providence.
