Pro Golfer David Harris captures Hillshire Farms Classic

He had to wait two months, but David Harris played an impressive round of golf to capture the Bahamas Professional Golf Tour’s Hillshire Farms Classic on Sunday, November 26 at the Baha MarResort’s Royal Blue Golf Course.

Harris finished the one-round event with a score of 69 three-under par. He held off a pesky StephanoStuart who finished one stroke behind him on two-under par7 0. Rounding out the top threefinishers in the professional division was tournament founder and September’s winner, RiccardoDavis who shot one-over par 73.

It was a good start to the round for Harris as he got three birdies by the fifth hole to finish the frontnine with four birdies and one bogey. The back nine saw him struggle coming away with two birdiesbut two bogeys.

Stuart was well on the way to victory as he went into hole number 18 with five birdies. However, hetriple-bogeyed hole number 18 to finish the round two shots under par 70.

In the amateur division, Richard Gibson who represented the Bahamas at the Pan-American Games,won the amateur division with a score of three-under par 69. He was able to hit three birdiesincluding three on the back nine. However, he had two bogeys.

There was a two-way tie for second place as the BPGT Classic’s winner, Nolan Johnson had to settlefor second this time around with a score of two-over par 74. Lynford Miller was also second with ascore of two-over par 74.

Juan Wilson came away with the title in the junior division after finishing the round six-over par 78.Second went to Zachary Joseph who scored eight-over-par 80. Rounding out the top three in thejunior division was Rashawn Hanna with a score of 10-over par 82.

After the round of golf, the BPGT Founder, Davis made a check donation to the Bahamas GolfFederation’s Junior Golf Division on behalf of the BPGT. The BGF president, Miller received thedonation on behalf of the BGF.

The BGPT will close out the year with the Bahamas Waste Open this month. The date and time willbe announced later.
