Doris Johnson High School Interact board inducted during World Interact Week

The Doris Johnson Senior High School Interact Club on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, celebrated World Interact Week with the installation of new directors for the Rotary year 2023-2024. Assisted by the Rotary Club of South-East Nassau who are their sponsors, and the Rotaract Club of South-East Nassau Centennial, the Interact students received their pins and pledged their commitment to high ethical standards and the application of the ideal of service in their personal, family, school, and community life.

World Interact Week is celebrated annually during the week of November 5th to commemorate the founding of the first Interact Club in Melbourne, Florida in 1962. There are over 343,000 youth ages 12-18 around the world serving in over 14,000 clubs. The name Interactor, derived from two words, "international and action."

Interactors play an important role in their communities while developing leadership skills and discovering the power of "Service Above Self." The week's festivities will conclude with a church service at Grace Community Church on Sunday, November 12th. The Interactors will also be donating $600, raised solely by the club, to the Sister-Sister Breast Cancer Support Group.
