Family, loved ones, friends, political colleagues and constituents of the late Hon. Minister of Social Services, Information and Broadcasting Obadiah Hercules Wilchcombe laughed, cried, sang and danced  during what was a spirited memorial service at the Bishop Michael Eldon Auditorium as they shared fond memories of the beloved statesman, orator, journalist and esteemed Member of Parliament for West Grand Bahama and Bimini on Friday, October 13, the day his body returned home to Grand Bahama to meet his final resting place.
 
Among those bringing tribute were Acting Prime Minister, the Hon. Chester Cooper; Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey; Consul General to Miami, the Hon. Curt Hollingsworth; the Grand Bahama Urban Renewal Community Children’s Choir; the West End Primary School Choir and the Legendary Cooling Waters.
 
Mr. Wilchcombe’s funeral service was held on Saturday, October 14, at Christ the King Church and followed by a motorcade to West Grand Bahama for his burial in the West End Public Cemetery.
