National LEAD Institute Bahamas Chairman Elected Director of Jamaica Chamber of Commerce

The Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) has welcomed a new Director with a distinct focus on security and crime prevention, social transformation, climate change, justice, digitalization, and renewable energy. The election of the Chairman of the National LEAD Institute Bahamas to this prominent position signifies a pivotal moment for the JCC, where evidence-based practices, models, and resources will play a vital role in advancing key initiatives.

The JCC, under the leadership of President Phillip Ramsom and his dedicated team, is committed to improving competitiveness, environmental stewardship, corporate social responsibility, and overall quality, with a particular emphasis on accelerating a green transition and embracing renewable energy solutions.

Mr. Chinapoo, the former Chairman of the CARICOM EU Technical Oversight Committee on Crime and Violence Prevention, brings a wealth of diverse expertise and experience to the JCC Leadership. His election highlights not only the strengthening of regional collaboration but also the potential for the Bahamas to export services, evidence-based practices, and knowledge offerings to the wider Caribbean community.

The new JCC Executive Committee, led by President Phillip Ramsom, comprises accomplished individuals in key positions:

1st Vice President: Emile Leiba, Managing Partner of DunnCox Attorneys.

2nd Vice President: Peter Graham, Managing Director of IGL Jamaica.

3rd Vice President: Martha Miller, CEO of National Rums Jamaica.

4th Vice President: Jonathan Swire, Deputy Chairman of the Delta Supply Group.

Additionally, Soan Madden of the JN Group was re-elected as Honourary Treasurer. The JCC also welcomed other Directors, including Janine Chen (Massy Distribution Group), Jason Clarke (Optimum Trading), Keith Collister (Appliance Traders Group), Andre Gooden (Jamaica Stock Exchange), David McBean (Mona School of Business & Management), Neesha Rodney (Mobile Welding & Engineering Works Limited), and Steven Whittingham (Grace Financial Group).

The National LEAD Institute is a renowned Community Correctional Organization that has been successfully providing programs to assist at-risk juveniles and pre- and post-prison/correctional facility inmates in getting their lives back on track since 2009.

Mission: The mission of the National LEAD Institute is to provide personal development programs that transform from within and services that assist both at-risk youth and pre- and post-prison/correctional facilities inmates to re-direct their lives, empowering them to become law-abiding and productive citizens.

Vision: The vision of the National LEAD Institute is to harness the leadership potential in individuals, directing it toward positive goals, thus transforming them into individuals with strong self-esteem, the ability to accomplish any task, and the discipline to live purposeful lives.
