Man accused of murder loses bid to have ankle bracelet removed

A judge on Wednesday refused to order the removal of a murder suspect's ankle monitor.

Keontae Pinder told Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson that he needed to have his ankle bracelet removed because of his job.

However, prosecutors objected to the removal on the basis that Pinder had not been complying with his bail conditions to keep his curfew and keep his bracelet charged.

Pinder is awaiting trial on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

The charges stem from a shooting in Pinewood Gardens on February 16, 2018, that resulted in the deaths of Rashad Bethel and D'Siorn Symonette and an attempt on Roland Brown's life.

Pinder's co-accused, Malik Fernander, was murdered last November.
