TRAFFIC DIVERSION FOR JUNKANOO CARNIVAL 2023

The Traffic Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, wish to advise the General Public of temporary road closures between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday May 20th 2023.

• The Public is further advised, that Bahamas Games Boulevard will be close to all vehiculartraffic between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday 20th May, 2023. Onlyvehicles that are a part of the parade will be allowed into that area.

• University Commons between Blue Hill Road and University Boulevard will be closedto vehicular traffic between 9:00 a.m. until the parade clears University Commons. Allwestbound traffic wanting to travel on University Commons will be diverted north ontoBlue Hill Road and all wanting to travel east will be diverted out of the area.

• University Boulevard between Russell Road and the Six Legged Round About will beclosed to vehicular traffic from 10:00 a.m., until the parade clears University Boulevard.All traffic attempting to enter the affected areas will be diverted.

• Farrington Road will be closed to vehicular traffic between Lightbourn Avenue and theSix Legged Round About from 11:00 a.m. until the Parade clears the Six Legged RoundAbout. All traffic attempting to enter the affected areas will be diverted.

• New Providence Highway between the Six Legged Round About and Saunders Beachwill be closed to vehicular traffic from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Only those vehiclesauthorize by the event organizers will be allowed to enter that area. All traffic attempting toenter the affected areas will be diverted.

• West Bay Street between Saunders Beach and Marcus Bethel Way will be closed tovehicular traffic from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. All traffic attempting to enter the affectedareas will be diverted.

The General Public is advised to avoid the affected areas. Local traffic that has to go into theaffected area should expect delays.

Please note that NO ATV (4WHEELS), Golf Carts or unauthorized vehicles will be allowed toenter onto or drive along the Parade Route. Only those vehicles that have been identified by theevent organizers will be permitted on the route.

The General Public wishing to view the Parade is asked to be in place prior to the Parade reachingthe area.
