‘Vision’ the groundbreaking documentary from HG Christie has captivated audiences at the Island House Cinema last week. The film, directed by renowned Bahamian Director Kareem Mortimer was first released to a private audience back in November of 2022 as the company marked 100 years of real estate excellence in The Bahamas.

Over a two-year period, Mortimer and his talented crew showed unwavering dedication to the project working to complete it, even in the face of widespread Covid-19 restrictions imposed at the time.

"We could not have anticipated the incredible reception the film has received,” said CEO John Christie “Sir Harold Christie is a unique figure in Bahamian history. His story is one of a true Bahamian pioneer in both Real Estate and Tourism”, he noted, “the fact that audiences have embraced the film so enthusiastically is truly heartening."

The documentary’s ability to entertain, educate, and inspire viewers, has sparked a renewed appreciation for the power of visual storytelling and earned the film a premier spot among scores of regional and international films featured during last April’s Island House Film Festival.

After a successful run at the festival, the documentary was kept on for additional screenings on May 11th and 12th, with a matinee on Saturday. Moviegoers packed the cinema which prompted Island House to extend the run for additional evening showings of the film on Saturday and Sunday.

Through a captivating blend of stunning visuals, compelling narratives, and insightful interviews, the documentary offered a unique and immersive cinematic experience that resonated deeply with viewers. These extra screenings have consistently left audiences in awe, sparking engaging discussions and leaving an indelible impression on all who attend.

“I felt the movie was very informative” noted Duane Pierce, “I was able to learn a lot about Bahamian history and especially the history of Cat Island where Mr. Christie had significant influence. It increased my knowledge of the fact that we have many Icons from every island and I feel like knowing that has improved my knowledge of the country in general.”

For Rory Major, the film provided new insights into the widely  respected HGC Brand. “To actually see the impact of Sir Harold and the involvement he had in the development of so many things was incredible,” he explained. “I would absolutely recommend.”
