BTC has once again pledged its unwavering support to the country’s next generation, this time through a donation of seven scholarships for top primary school students in the country. BTC has been a long-time supporter of the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation, each year supplying funding to the foundation.

Senior Manager for Communications, Indira Collie said, “This is a fantastic way for us to make a difference in the life of a child. We believe that every child deserves an opportunity to shine and thrive, and BTC ensures that it continues donations to reputable organizations to make this possible. We couldn’t be prouder in this our 50th year of independence, to again partner with the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation, and what is always important to us is that students from each of our islands are represented. It is indicative of who we are as BTC, as we continue to provide services to each island, rock, and cay. We salute each of the students, their parents, and families. It truly takes a village to raise a child, and today we are seeing the benefits of that village system.”

BTC will take part in this year’s event as a Patron Sponsor and will also provide seven scholarships for seven students.

The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation will recognize 122 students from public and private schools in New Providence, Grand Bahama and the Family Islands. The program boasts of changing the lives of over 3,000 students since its inception in 1997.

President of the Foundation, Ricardo Deveaux, commented on the partnership: “We are grateful for BTC for this sponsorship, because it is about providing recognition for the best and brightest in this country. To see the things that the students are doing even in terms of the passion and philanthropic efforts being undertaken by our students is phenomenal. BTC is one of our major sponsors, and BTC has been on board with the BPSOY for at least 15 years, and we say thank you BTC!”
