Man charged with murder of four-year-old boy

A man accused of killing four-year-old Kenton Seymour Jr. while trying to shoot someone else has been committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court.

Shanton Munroe yesterday received the evidence that the prosecution will present against him to support charges of murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Munroe, who is on remand, will be arraigned in the Supreme Court on October 13 in relation to the July 26, 2022 incident.

Prosecutors allege that Munroe was shooting at Deshano Joseph on Fleming Street when Kenton Jr. was shot as his parents drove him to an ice cream shop.

Munroe is charged with little Kenton's murder as well as the attempted murders of his parents, Kenton Seymour Sr. and Norma Smith, and that of Joseph.

He's also charged with possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger the lives of Seymour, Smith and Joseph.
