Police on Monday charged a 27-year-old Grant Street resident with the March 6 murders of two men.

Prosecutors allege that Kyle Jones, while concerned with another, murdered 32-year-old murder suspect Patrickedo Rose and 46-year-old Alfred McKenzie at Fox Hill Park.

According to police, around 8:45 p.m., on the day in question, two gunmen fatally shot Rose and McKenzie while they were at the park.

Rose was known to police and was wearing an ankle bracelet as a condition of bail for six murders. On the other hand, police said that McKenzie was not known to them.

Jones was not required to enter pleas to the murder charges when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.

As the magistrate lacks the jurisdiction to consider bail for the offenses, Jones was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until May 31.

He will remain in custody unless he's granted bail by a Supreme Court judge.
