NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) announced a donation of $20,000 to The Bahamas National Trust (BNT) to support its ongoing work in the protection of The Bahamas' environment.

The donation will assist with the restoration and maintenance of The New Providence parks, namely The Retreat, Primeval Forest, and Harrold and Wilson Ponds National Park.

"As a good corporate citizen, we understand that our responsibility is not only to our clients and employees but also to the country and communities in which we serve to ensure they prosper," said LaSonya Missick, Managing Director, RBC Royal Bank (Bahamas) Ltd.

"RBC has been a part of the Caribbean for nearly 115 years, and we take pride in being able to give back to our communities in such a meaningful way. We are proud of our relationship with the BNT, and are pleased to contribute to its ongoing efforts to preserve our country's natural beauty and resources."

BNT's Parks Planner and New Providence Parks Manager, Chantal Curtis, thanked RBC for its continuing support.

"As a non-profit organization, donations and volunteer hours are critical to the important work that we do. With this donation and your continued support, we're able to continue to foster environmental stewardship and to protect those key important species and habitats throughout The Bahamas," she said.

RBC in The Bahamas partnered with the BNT on several projects last year, including funding a project dedicated to educating and creating awareness among the youth and the community. In addition, in support of World Environment Day and World Oceans Day in June 2022, RBC Volunteers collected 3,000 pounds of debris from several beaches in The Bahamas.

The BNT was also selected as one of RBC's conservation charities in the Caribbean in recognition of Earth Day in 2022. For more information about the BNT or to learn how you can get involved, visit www.bnt.bs or email supporttheparks@bnt.bs.
