Seven Day Forecast For The Bahamas from 3rd to 9th February 2023

General Situation: High pressure across the Bahamas will shift eastwards away from the islands as a cold front across Florida pushes into the Northwest Bahamas tonight and stall through Saturday. Strong high pressure will generate breezy to windy conditions mainly across the Northwest and central Bahamas in wake of the front on Saturday with winds diminishing on Sunday. The front will then lift back northwards as a warm front on Sunday. Low pressure will develop along the front north of the area by Monday and shift northeastwards. This will allow the front to push through the Bahamas with another high pressure building across the islands through the week. 

Friday 3rd – Partly sunny and warm with a few isolated showers possible during the day. Increasing clouds and turning breezy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across the Northwest Bahamas as the front moves into the area during the evening and mainly fair across the remainder of the islands. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 68°F. A small craft caution will be in effect for the NW Bahamas behind the front. Winds S to SW at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas ahead of the front shifting N to NE at 15 to 20 knots behind the front and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Cntrl Bahamas and near 15 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the ocean ahead of the front building 4 to 6 feet behind the front in the NW Bahamas…2 to 4 feet in the Cntrl Bahamas and 3 to 5 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Saturday 4th – Partly cloudy to cloudy and breezy to windy with scattered showers and the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm or two in the Northwest Bahamas…Partly sunny and warm in the Central and Southeast Bahamas with a few isolated showers possible during the day. Cloudy and breezy with scattered showers in the Northwest Bahamas and mostly fair in the Central and Southeast Bahamas at night. Maximum temperature 78°F and minimum temperature 66°F. Small craft operators should remain in port in the NW Bahamas and a small craft caution will be in effect for the Cntrl and SE Bahamas. Beachgoers should refrain from entering the waters. Winds NE’ly at 20 to 25 knots with higher gusts in the NW Bahamas and ENE to ESE at 15 knots in the Cntrl and SE Bahamas. Seas 5 to 8 feet over the ocean in the NW Bahamas and 3 to 5 feet in the Cntrl and SE Bahamas in NE to E’ly swells.

Maximum temperature 80°F and minimum temperature 67°F. A small craft advisory will be in effect due to swells. Beachgoers should remain vigilant due to the risk of rip currents along north and east coast beaches.  Winds SE to S at 15 to 20 knots in the NW and Cntrl Bahamas and E to SE at 15 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet but up to 10 feet over the ocean in the NW and Cntrl Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet but up to 8 feet in swells across the SE Bahamas in NE to E’ly swells.
