President of Industrial Tribunal of Bahamas and Executive Director of CAJS Visit Grand Bahama to tour Freeport Smart Court

The President of the Industrial Tribunal of The Bahamas, Her Honour Mrs. Indira Demeritte-Francis and the Executive Director of the Caribbean Agency for Justice Solutions (CAJS), Mr. Bevil Wooding, recently visited the Industrial Tribunal's Northern Region office in Freeport, Grand Bahama to tour the facilities and see first-hand the CAJS technology was being used to revolutionize the court. During their visit, Mr. Wooding and Mrs. Demeritte-Francis met with Vice-President Amorales-Jones to discuss the positive impact of the smart court system on the local community. 
The high-level team, which included Nassau-based judges of the Tribunal, also had the opportunity to hear first-hand from court staff and users about the improvements the new systems have brought to their daily operations. The delegation was given a tour of the state-of-the-art smart court that runs the Curia Court Management system developed by the CAJS.
"We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to showcase the smart court developed by the CAJS to Mr. Wooding and Mrs. Demeritte-Francis," said Vice-President Amorales-Jones. “The Grand Bahama smart court revolutionized the Tribunal’s operations and has helped improve the productivity and efficiency of the services offered in its Northern Region. The technology has been praised for its ability to streamline processes and make the court system more accessible to the public.”
"The smart court technology implemented by the CAJS has been a game changer for the Industrial Tribunal in The Bahamas," said Her Honour Mrs. Indira Demeritte-Francis."  The technology has been praised by our staff and users for marked improvement it has brought to the quality of service we offer to Tribunal users and for the increase in the productivity and efficiency of our operations it has enabled.”
Mr. Bevil Wooding, Executive Director of CAJS also added "It is always a pleasure to see the impact of our technology on the ground. The success of the smart court in The Bahamas is a great example of how technology can be leveraged to improve the justice system and make it more accessible to the public."
As The Bahamas gets ready to celebrate its 50th anniversary of independence on the 10th July 2023, Vice-President Almorales-Jones said she is in awe of the leaps and bounds the administration of justice in labour matters has made under the leadership of President Demeritte-Francis and with the partnership of CAJS. “I am extremely excited about the course that has been set. The future of adjudication of Industrial and labour relations in The Bahamas looks very bright.”
