Police have charged a 31-year-old man they say shot and killed a man outside his home in Coconut Grove last month.

Kirkland Bullard, a resident of Florida Court, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on Monday charged with the December 22 murder of D'amatto Deveaux.

Police said Deveaux was on the porch of his home at Eighth Street when he was shot. At the time of his murder, Deveaux was wearing an ankle bracelet as a condition of his $7,500 bail for possession of a prohibited weapon.

Bullard was remanded into custody until April 4 when he's expected to receive a voluntary bill of indictment.

Attorney Ian Cargill appeared for Bullard and ASP Philip Davis was the prosecutor.
