Return of BNT’s Jollification Kicks Off Holiday Season

After a successful return to their in-person fall events with the 30th Wine and Art Festival earlier this month, The Bahamas National Trust (BNT) is excited to announce their next major event: Jollification 2022.

Like Wine and Art, Jollification saw a two-year hiatus as a result of the pandemic. Now, BNTare ready to welcome eager crowds back to the beautiful Retreat Garden for their one-of-a-kind Christmas arts and crafts festival.

Jollification is a family event featuring Bahamian-made art, crafts, food, condiments, bakedgoods, and holiday spirits from Bristol Wines and Spirits, Caribbean Wines and Spirits, andJimmy’s Wines and Spirits. This year’s event will feature approximately 90 artists andvendors, live music and entertainment, a Junkanoo crafts area, and more over its two dayperiod. Attendees can look forward to products such as asian cuisine by Konigiri; UncleDave’s Pepper Sauce; DaGoat Bahamian-made goat pepper products; Androsia fabric art byIlashan; candles, diffusers, and wax melts from Pour’ed Wax Studio; original children’sclothing and accessories from Sunflower Blossoms; original straw and Androsia handbags byColor Me Artistry; Island Thread’s embroidered cushions and Christmas ornaments; uniquelydesigned polymer clay jewelry from Made Well by Gracie; and much more.

Jollification serves as a fundraiser for The Retreat Garden - an 11 acre botanical gardenfeaturing an exotic collection of palms, and native biodiversity. Primary event organizer LynnGape said, “We’re all excited to be back to in-person events. This will allow us to move forwardwith lots of projects for The Retreat Garden: general maintenance, building repairs, palmcultivation, and the addition of palms to the park’s collection.

“After two years, people seem to be looking forward to the event. Jollification is something thatbrings people together and acts as the kickoff for the Christmas season. It’s interesting to watchpeople reunite with friends they may not have seen for awhile, and we’re glad to once again hostthis wonderful event that allows them to do that.”

Jollification takes place November 19 and 20 from 11am to 8pm at The Retreat Garden onVillage Road. Tickets can be purchased at the gate on the days of the event. BNT MembersNight will be held on Friday night from 6pm - 10pm at The Retreat.

The BNT would like the public to note that the present roadworks on Village Road near theRetreat will be paused on the dates of this event, to allow the event to go on.
