PHA Responds to Increased Pharmacy Needs

The Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) pharmacies, in response to the temporary closure ofprivately-owned pharmacies in New Providence and Grand Bahama, are extending hoursand expanding staffing capacity to support the public’s pharmaceutical needs.

The Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) remains open 8:00am to 4:00pm to fill outpatientprescriptions. Until 10:00pm, PMH will continue to offer an on-call pharmacist to supportemergency requests. Additional pharmacists will be scheduled per shift to provide support asneeded.

Grand Bahamas Health Services (GBHS) wishes to advise the public that the followingpharmacy locations will offer extended hours as listed:

● Eight Mile Rock Clinic 9:00 am - 7:00pm
● Freeport Community Clinic 8:00am - 7:00pm
The Hawksbill Clinic 8:00am - 4:00pm and Pearce Plaza 9:00am - 5:00pm will maintain itsoutpatient pharmacy services as usual.

Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre (SRC) has resumed its hours of 9:00am to 4:00pm to filloutpatient prescriptions.

The Supplies Management Agency (SMA) will continue to assess our inventory levels toensure we are able to meet the prescription needs across The Bahamas. If any changesarise, the public will be updated in a timely manner.
