The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation (BPSSYF) received a boost from Colina Insurance Limited (Colina) as it prepares for this year’s award ceremony.

“Colina is Bahamian and we are committed to The Bahamas and to empowering its people, especially young students,” said Maxine V. Seymour, Director, Corporate Communications, Colina. “The [BPSSY] Foundation is to be applauded for consistently recognizing the top primary school students from across the country and we are thrilled to continue our years’ long partnership with them.”

“The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation is indeed grateful for the continued partnership of Colina Insurance for our 26th Annual Awards Program,” said Dr. Ricardo P. Deveaux, President & CEO, BPSSYF. “Your donation is truly making a difference and impacting the life of a child.”

Colina has a long-standing partnership with the organization that honours the top grade six students in The Bahamas.

“The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Awards Program was established in 1997,” said Dr. Ricardo P. Deveaux, President & CEO, BPSSYF. “Since its inception over 2,500 of the BEST and BRIGHTEST primary school students have been recognized and over $2 million dollars in scholarship and prizes awarded.”

Caiden Moxey placed among the BPSSYF top 10 finalists last year, receiving the Patron’s Scholarship from Colina. He completed sixth grade at Remnant Academy and is currently a seventh grade student at Aquinas College.

“I was very happy to receive the award; I worked hard,” said Caiden Moxey. “In order to apply, I got different certificates from clubs, report cards, and letters of recommendation.”

“Caiden is a brilliant young man who will excel in high school and in life,” said Maxine V. Seymour, Director, Corporate Communications, Colina. “He is an aspiring engineer with a promising future ahead and a strong village that supports him.”

“I can hardly wait to meet the scholar who will receive Colina’s patron scholarship at this year’s ceremony on June 11,” said Seymour.
