Edward Duncombe II Appointed Assistant Vice President of Human Resources

University of The Bahamas (UB) announces the appointment of Mr. Edward Duncombe II as Assistant Vice President (AVP) Human Resources (HR), with effect on 11th January 2022.

As AVP of HR, Mr. Duncombe will be responsible for managing the operations and contributing to the overall strategic objectives of the HR department. He will work in tandem with the Vice President of HR to coordinate and implement HR policies, programmes, and initiatives to improve recruitment, employee development, retention, and the overall efficiency of the HR functions.

Mr. Duncombe earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix and a Master of Science degree in Human Resources from Villanova University. He also holds professional development certifications in global human resources practices, international business, internal auditing and psychometrics.

Mr. Duncombe's career in human resources spans more than 20 years, across multiple sectors and industries - telecommunications, mortgage servicing, retail, marketing, sales, construction, and hospitality. With local and international experience, he has successfully led HR projects in North America, Dubai, UAE, and Qatar. In his last role, Mr. Duncombe was instrumental in implementing the Supreme Committee's Workers Welfare Rights policies in preparation for the World Cup 2022.

One of his expertise in human resources, is organizational change and effectiveness, which will be vital in helping UB fulfil its vision, mission, and strategic goals relative to HR.

In his spare time, Mr. Duncombe enjoys fishing. He believes that true leadership is demonstrated through mentoring and developing team members to help them harness their strengths and improve their weaknesses to become proactive problem solvers. He is married to the love of his life, Joan Duncombe.
