NEWS ITEM ON TROPICAL STORM VICTOR, ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION AT 12PM EDT, SATURDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2021.

…VICTOR BARELY HOLDING ON AS A TROPICAL CYCLONE…

AT 11AM EDT, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM VICTOR WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 13.1° NORTH AND LONGITUDE 37.2° WEST,OR ABOUT 905 MILES WEST OF THE CABO VERDE ISLANDS.

VICTOR IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 12 MILES PER HOUR, AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS.  GRADUAL WEAKENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS, AND VICTOR COULD BECOME A REMNANT LOW BY TONIGHT.
