This summer, Coca-Cola lovers are taking home big prizes, including Samsung S20 smartphones, for turning in the limited-time silver bottle caps featured on some of Coca-Cola Bahamas’ classic beverages. New Providence and Grand Bahama customers have been able to redeem their caps at weekly events, which kicked off during the first week of July. And, the silver caps team will also be headed into Abaco, Long Island, and Eleuthera to give family island customers the chance to take home prizes, courtesy of the Caribbean Bottling Company (Bahamas) Ltd.

Kendrell Knowles, who turned in her silver caps at Super Value Winton, was the very first Samsung S20 winner. Other customers got the chance to redeem their caps for prizes, including domino sets, beach chairs, and Coca-Cola Bahamas glasses.

The silver bottle caps can be redeemed each week at pop up events in New Providence and Grand Bahama, throughout July. The Coca-Cola Silver Caps team will also be in Abaco on July 22-23, Long Island from July 22-23 and in Eleuthera from July 21-23.

Gabriella Suighi, CBC Activations Marketing Manager, noted that the promotion will not only be able to award customers with prizes, but will also allow them to turn in their empty bottles for recycling. “We are extremely happy to continue our recycling efforts with the WasteNot team, and hope that the silver caps promotion can raise awareness about recycling opportunities in The Bahamas.” added Suighi.

Empty plastic bottles can be dropped off at silver bottle cap redemption events, for recycling, or deposited at WasteNot Bahamas’ collection bins located at the New Providence Community Church on Blake Road, Saint Andrews School on Yamacraw Road and Ardastra Gardens on Chippingham Road.

CBC has been a long term partner of WasteNot, as well as its sister group, Cans4Kids, which facilitates aluminum can collection with local schools.

“Over the years, we have been dedicated to supporting community and environment groups that aim to positively impact change around the country.” noted Nikia Wells, CBC Communications Marketing Manager. “Not only are we proud to support the ongoing day to day efforts of WasteNot and Cans4kids, we want to help engage communities to raise awareness about environmental preservation projects.”

Beverages that will feature the silver bottle caps include Coca-Cola (20 oz, 1 Litre & 2 Litre), Coca-Cola No Sugar (20 oz), Diet Coke (20oz), all Minute Maid Fruit Coolers flavors (20 oz & 2 Litre), Sprite (20oz, 1 Litre & 2 Litre) and Bahamas Goombay Punch (20 oz, 1 Litre and 2 Litre). Customers can redeem up to 100 caps per day, and those who redeem silver caps at select events, will also be eligible to enter to win Samsung S20 smartphones weekly.
