NEWS ITEMS ON TROPICAL DEPRESSION IOTA ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 6:00 AM WEDNESDAY 18TH, NOVEMBER 2020.

…IOTA WEAKENS TO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION OVER EL SALVADOR …

AT 3:00 AM CST, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION IOTA WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 13.7° NORTH AND LONGITUDE 88.3° WEST OR ABOUT 20 MILES NORTHWEST OF EL PAPALON, EL SALVADOR OR 55 MILES EAST OF SAN SALVADOR, EL SALVADOR.

IOTA IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-SOUTHWEST AT 13 MILES PER HOUR. ON THE FORECAST TRACK, THE CENTER OF IOTA WILL MOVE ACROSS EL SALVADOR BEFORE THE SYSTEM DISSIPATES LATER TODAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED NEAR 35 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS. IOTA IS EXPECTED TO DEGENERATE INTO A POST-TROPICAL REMNANT LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM LATER TODAY.
