Letter: Raise the bar for aspiring MPs

EDITOR, The Tribune. While the willingness to offer to serve one's country as a MP is noble and good, we must question the motivation of some who have entered the race without having absolutely no prior track record of community service before receiving their party's endorsement. Political party's should ensure that their political aspirants have a minimum involvement somewhere in the community before offering them to the Bahamian people. We will continue to get mediocre service from some members and parliament if those entering there singular claim to fame is that they were given their party's blessings.
