Appointment of Vice President of Finance and Business Enterprise

University of The Bahamas (UB) announces the appointment of Ms. Ingrid Culmer as Vice President of Finance and Business Enterprise effective immediately. Ms. Culmer brings to the position more than 30 years of public accounting and private enterprise financial management experience.

As VP of Finance and Business Enterprise, Ms. Culmer has oversight for the development and implementation of financial systems, and the coordination and monitoring of the operating budget, advising the President and senior administration on financial management, financial and treasury accounting records, core systems and ancillary services.

She is also responsible for ensuring that UB’s financial operations are administered in accordance with institutional policies, regulatory requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards. Ms. Culmer served previously as Acting VP of Finance and Business Enterprise and the Financial Controller at UB. In the latter role, she was responsible for managing all accounting operations, preparing budgets, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, preparing and publishing timely financial statements and coordinating the reporting of regulatory reporting. 


Ms. Culmer developed her early professional competencies in accounting and auditing at accounting firms Pannell Kerr Forster and Price Waterhouse. She has previously served as Chief Group Internal Auditor for two corporations registered with BISX and Financial Controller for a few companies where she gained experience in the insurance, newspaper, private banking and commercial fuel sectors.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, a CPA designation from the Georgia State Board of Accountancy, and an International Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance
