Woman dead, husband fights for life after parasailing accident

FREEPORT: A parasailing accident has claimed the life of a young woman visitor and has left her husband fighting for his life in hospital.

It is believed that the couple plummeted 40 to 50ft to the ground when their harness broke away from the parasail.

The Americans were honeymooning in Grand Bahama when the incident occurred yesterday afternoon at the Lucayan Beach.

The pair were rushed to Rand Memorial Hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead. Her husband was last night in "critical" condition.

Prayers to the husband and family. We were in the Bahamas when this happened, we did not see the accident but it was devastating news. Very sad.
