The Visual Arts Department at the University of The Bahamas (UB) will present a group exhibition entitled “Process & Material” for this year’s Transforming Spaces (TS). Curated by Assistant Professor Heino Schmid, the exhibition will be displayed in the Franklyn R. Wilson Graduate Centre and include works by present students, faculty and recent alumni. As the title suggests, the exhibition hopes to engage with the audience in terms of the diversity of creative methodologies and application of traditional media in the growing landscape of visual art in The Bahamas. As the leading tertiary institution in the country, UB’s Visual Arts Department is consistently re-engaging with its students to help facilitate burgeoning ideas about what it means to be a practicing visual artist as well as creating an embryonic environment that challenges and assists with the execution of those ideas.
