One More Week to Help Feed 5000 During Christmas

With just a little under a week left in the AML Foods Limited Feed 5000 campaign to raise funds to provide Christmas food packages to families in New Providence and Grand Bahama, the public is reminded that they still have an opportunity to support the effort.

With a visit to any AML Foods Limited Solomon’s Fresh Market, Solomon’s and Cost Right locations in New Providence and Grand Bahama between now and December 19, patrons can make a $40 purchase of a Christmas dinner package consisting of a whole chicken, picnic ham, 5lbs of rice, two cans of peas, stuffing and two cans of vegetables. The packages will be distributed to the Bahamas Feeding Network membership consisting of 100 soup kitchens, feeding centers and churches on December 20, 2019 at Solomon’s Yamacraw in Nassau and Solomon’s Lucaya in Freeport.

“We’re aware of the incredible financial burden many of our people have been placed in over the last few months, since the passing of hurricane Dorian,” said Philip Smith, executive director Bahamas Feeding Network. “Many families have had to take in additional persons seeking refuge after losing homes and possessions in Grand Bahama and Abaco. Your generous donation will assist in providing some normalcy in their lives during the very festive Christmas holiday.”

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, AML Foods Limited has pledged $30,000 to the program and encourages others to make a donation no matter the amount.

“Every dollar indeed counts and they all add up,” said Renee Bastian, campaign founder and VP Marketing & Public Relations AML Foods Limited. “While we would like for persons to purchase an entire $40 package or multiple packages, we know that some persons may only have $2 or $5 but still want to give. We’d love to have your support in helping us reach our goal of providing 3,750 packages this Christmas season so please give whatever you can afford to.”
