Severe Weather Warning for Grand Bahama, Abaco, Andros, New Providence, Bimini, The Berry Islands and Eleuthera

Wed, Sep 11th 2019, 03:34 PM

There is an active mid to upper level trough expected to move over the NW (Grand Bahama, Abaco, Andros, New Providence, Bimini, The Berry Islands and Eleuthera) and Central Bahamas (Exuma, Long Island, Cat Island, Ragged Island, San Salvador and Rum Cay)on Thursday and Friday.

There is a considerable amount of convective (heavy showers and embedded thunderstorms) activity and squally winds gusting to gale force at times associated with this trough so on Thursday and Friday you can expect severe thunderstorms warranting the need to issue several severe weather warnings and localized flooding in low lying areas.

I know this is rough for Grand Bahama and Abaco after Hurricane Dorian but you must brace yourself for some heavy thunderstorms heading your way for these two days and by Saturday it should start to improve as the system moves away from us. Please be safe everyone.
