Be Forward Japan and Sealine ZPX Bahamas Ltd., are stepping up with a donation of 1,500 T-shirts to provide immediate relief to Abaco and Grand Bahama residents left devastated in the wake of Hurricane Dorian’s passage.

“Our brothers and sisters in Abaco have been brought to their knees by Hurricane Dorian, estimated to be the second strongest hurricane ever in the Atlantic Basin,” said Val Watkins of Sealine ZPX Bahamas LTD, the authorized agent for Be Forward Japan, a leading online ecommerce site selling and exporting high quality used cars from Japan.

“We realized people are anxious and overwhelmed. We wanted to extend a hand to lift them up, even if, for now, it’s just a clean, dry shirt to wear in the first few days.”

Recognizing that persons may not have access to running water or power, the companies thought the T-shirts to be a good fit for their first round of giving.

“We would like to express our deep condolences to those who were affected by the hurricane, Dorian, ”said Hironori Yamakawa, President of Be Forward Co. Ltd.

“We will do our best to give support to those affected areas. We sincerely hope for the earliest possible recovery.”

Ms Watkins delivered 20 boxes of shirts of assorted sizes to the Bahamas Red Cross on Tuesday, September 10.
