Reports are in that the Humane Society of Grand Bahama has been completely devastated by the passing of Hurricane Dorian a historically catastrophic category 5 hurricane.

There were some 300 animals and 6 volunteers hold up in the shelter hoping it would endure the battering winds Dorian brought.  Sadly it did not.  Reports are that most if not all of the dogs have been lost and the 6 volunteers are stranded awaiting rescue by volunteers who have taken their jet skis out to find persons in need of help.

The following message was found on the header of the Humane Society of Grand Bahama's website:

"Attention: Hurricane Dorian is devastating the shelter. There is over 5 feet of water in the shelter and rising. Please check our FaceBook page for updates. Please help by making a donation. God Bless."
