Two rounds have been completed and competition is beginning to heat up in the 2019 Bahamas Professional Golf Tour (BPGT) Signature Golf Classics as the third round takes the Tour back to the Royal Blue Golf Club at the Baha Mar Resort on Friday, August 30, 2019 with tee-off time set for 2.30 p.m.

The second round was held at the Ocean Club Golf Club on Sunday, July 28.

The BPGT is proud to have SuperClubs Breezes Resort – an all-inclusive property as this round’s title sponsor. It is also one of the Tour's major and monthly supporting sponsors. From the thought of the first season in 2018, Breezes saw that it could be beneficial for them to partner with the Tour with the view of assisting professional golf advance in the country. Golf as a sport is not as widely accepted as many other sports but it is one that can certainly help to build our sporting and destination profile hence, the Breeze’s Bahamas Golf Classic.

Apart from Breezes Resorts, Sun Tee, Graycliff Wines & Cigars, Bentonite Beauty Clay, Peter Minnis Designs, Royal Blue Golf Club, Bahamas Waste Ltd., and R & E Imports and Sales also thought it necessary to support monthly in assisting to further develop and advance the sport of professional golf in The Bahamas.

Riccardo Davis, our Tournament Organizer, leads the money purse. Davis won the first round in May, shooting an even par 72. Lemon Gorospe and Greg Maycock are tied for second place in the race for the money purse. Keno Turnquest is in third place on the money purse ladder.

Davis missed the second round and will miss this round due to an ongoing injury.

Keno Turnquest walked away as the winner in the second round, the Hillshire Farms Classic. He shot an impressive four under-par 68 in that round. Gorospe was second behind Turnquest with a score of two over-par 74. Maycock finished third with a score of five over-par 77.

In the amateur division at the Hillshire Farms Classic, Peter McIntosh was victorious as he shot a three under-par 69. Sebastian Iberri was second behind McIntosh with an even-par 72. Third place was won by Lynford Miller, president of The Bahamas Golf Federation, with a score of two over-par 74.

The Breezes Bahamas Golf Classic is gearing up to be another competitive one as Turnquest looks to get to the top of the money purse standings with Davis out. Golfers who are interested in playing in this round can register online at www.bpgt.org or drop off applications to Riccardo Davis at Baha Mar.
