THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY HAS ISSUED A

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FROM 8:15AM UNTIL

10:15AM TUESDAY 23RD JULY 2019.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR GRAND

BAHAMA, NORTH ABACO AND THEIR ADJACENT WATERS.

AT 8:10AM LIGHTNING DETECTOR, RADAR AND SATELLITE

IMAGERY DEPICTED LINES OF THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED

WITH RESIDUAL MOISTURE FROM TROPICAL DEPRESSION #3

MOVING ACROSS AND TOWARDS THE WARNING AREAS.

SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE SEVERE AT TIMES

CAUSING STRONG GUSTY WINDS, DANGEROUS LIGHTNING,

HEAVY DOWNPOURS, HAIL AND POSSIBLE WATERSPOUT OR

TORNADIC ACTIVITY AND LOCALIZED FLOODING IN LOW LYING

AREAS.

BOATERS IN THE WARNING AREA SHOULD SEEK SAFE HARBOUR

AND RESIDENTS IN THE WARNING AREA SHOULD STAY INDOORS

AND AWAY FROM WINDOWS WHEN CONDITIONS WORSEN.

RESIDENTS SHOULD NOT SEEK SHELTER UNDER TREES OR IN

WATER AS THESE CAN BECOME LIGHTNING CONDUCTORS.
