General Situation: A surface high pressure ridge will continue across the Bahamas as a plume of African Saharan dust suppresses most adverse weather activity through the weekend. A low-level trough near the NW Bahamas and an upper level trough adjacent to the eastern Bahamas will move near the area by late weekend before shifting eastwards with little weather expected. As ridge weakens over the area lighter winds and milder conditions will prevail into the new week while a weak front shift north and east of the area.

Friday 21st – Partly to mostly sunny, hot and humid with the chance of a few passing showers during the daytime. Partly cloudy to fair and warm at night time with the slight chance of a shower. Maximum temperature 93°F and a minimum temperature 81°F. Small craft should continue to exercise caution across the SE Bahamas. Winds SSE to SSW at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots early in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times and 4 to 6 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Saturday 22nd – Partly to mostly sunny, humid and warm with the chance of an isolated shower or two during the daytime. Mostly fair to clear skies and warm at night time. Maximum temperature 93°F and a minimum temperature 80°F. Winds variable at 10 knots or less in the NW Bahamas and NE to E at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times mainly in the Central Bahamas. Seas 1 to 3 feet in the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling 1 to 3 feet at times in the Central Bahamas.

Sunday 23rd – Partly to mostly cloudy, humid and hot with the chance of few passing showers during the daytime, turning partly cloudy to fair and warm with the slight chance of a shower at night time. Maximum temperature 92°F and a minimum temperature 80°F. Winds variable at 10 knots or less in the NW Bahamas and ENE to ESE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times. Seas 1 to 3 feet across the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times in the Central Bahamas.

Monday 24th – Partly cloudy, humid and hot with few isolated showers mainly around Bimini and west Grand Bahama during the daytime, turning partly cloudy and warm with the slight chance of a shower. Maximum temperature 91°F and a minimum temperature 79°F. Winds SE’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas early, falling light and variable later and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, becoming gusty early. Seas 2 to 4 feet overall areas but falling to 1 to 3 feet later in the NW Bahamas while building higher in gusts across the Central and SE Bahamas.

Tuesday 25th – Variably cloudy, humid and warm with the chance of isolated passing showers during the daytime through night time. Maximum temperature 89°F and a minimum temperature 78°F. Winds SE to S at 10 knots or less in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, gusting near a caution in the SE Bahamas early but falling 10 knots or less in the Central Bahamas later. Seas 1 to 3 feet across the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas; seas up to 6 feet in gusts across parts of the SE Bahamas early and falling to 1 to 3 feet in the Central Bahamas later.

Wednesday 26th – Partly to mostly sunny, hot and humid in the NW Bahamas with few isolated showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm, turning partly cloudy to fair and warm with isolated showers likely. Elsewhere, in the Central and SE Bahamas, partly to mostly cloudy, humid and hot with few passing showers or a possible thunderstorm, during the daytime, mostly cloudy and warm at night time with scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms likely. Maximum temperature 91°F and a minimum temperature 79°F. Winds SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, gusting near a caution in the SE Bahamas early. Seas 2 to 4 feet across the NW Bahamas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas; seas up to 6 feet in gusts across parts of the SE Bahamas early and falling to 1 to 3 feet in the Central Bahamas.

Beachgoers and mariners should be vigilant due to rough surf and the high risk of dangerous rip currents mainly along the north and east coast beaches during stated advisories. Mariners should exercise caution for gusty winds and higher seas during heavy showers or thunderstorms.
