Bahamas Hot Mix awarded $20 million LPIA contract

Bahamas Hot Mix Company Limited (BHM) was awarded the contract to carry out rehabilitation work on a runway and taxiway at the Lynden Pindling International Airport.
Work on the $20 million contract began yesterday. The Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD) stated in a release that the project could cause delays to the traveling public.
“Runway end safety areas (RESAs) will also be added to reduce the risk of damage to aircraft that overrun the runways and new LED approach lights will be installed to assist pilots during low visibility operations,” NAD noted in the release.
